Did you know? A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) lets you give up to $105,000 per year directly from your IRA — completely tax-free — to a qualified nonprofit like MCT.
What is a QCD?
Once you reach age 70½, the IRS requires you to take annual distributions from your traditional IRA — whether you need the money or not. Those distributions are normally counted as taxable income.
But with a Qualified Charitable Distribution, you can direct that money straight from your IRA to a qualified charity like the Mesquite Community Theatre. The distribution counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for the year — and you pay zero federal income tax on the amount given.
How It Works
Call your bank, brokerage, or IRA administrator and request a Qualified Charitable Distribution to the Mesquite Community Theatre.
Your custodian will need our Tax ID number (EIN) to process the transfer. You’ll find it below — keep it handy.
Drop us a note at give@mctnv.com so we can watch for the gift, send your acknowledgment letter, and personally thank you.

Good to Know
A QCD must be made directly from your IRA to MCT — if the funds come to you first, they don’t qualify. The maximum QCD amount is $105,000 per person per year (2024 IRS limit, adjusted annually for inflation).
No goods or services are provided in exchange for your gift, which is required for QCD eligibility. We will issue you a written acknowledgment letter for your tax records confirming this, along with the gift amount and our EIN.
As always, we encourage you to consult your financial advisor or tax professional to confirm that a QCD is the right choice for your individual circumstances.
We’d love to hear from you. Reach out and we’ll make the process as simple as possible.
